Taking good notes can help you think about things, think about the right things, learn and remember and create ideas, and apply these ideas to your work. Obsidian can help you make better notes because:
Obsidian is an easy to use Markdown editor that is free for personal use
It has features to add more structure to help you think, search, and navigate
It plugins for extra features you might need (like citations, graphs and linking)
Markdown Editor
A Markdown editor uses symbols to format your notes, like # for a heading, ** for bold, or [[link]] for a link. Your notes can be used in other editors and you will be more efficient.
Extra structure
You can link notes ([[link]]), tag them (#tag), and search and navigate based on these links and tags. This can make things easier to find and help you think about your notes structure.
Plugins
Obsidian has thousands of plugins to help you do specific things. You can also add your own scripts to Obsidian or write your own plugins.
